Staffing

Mrs Vicky Milnes, teaching assistant, will be leaving at the end of this term to work in partnership with her husband.  We are very grateful for all Mrs Milnes’ contributions to school life, particularly her work in the classroom and organising and overseeing the school library.  We would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you and wish her every success in her new venture.

I am very saddened to inform you of the death of Mrs Jeff Ault, a loyal lunchtime supervisor at this school for over thirty years, until her retirement two years ago.  Jeff was an inspiration to others.  She always enjoyed working with children and was great fun for children and adults to be with.  We missed her greatly when she retired and we will miss seeing her at school events.  Her funeral is on Friday 14th March at 11.45am, at Amersham Crematorium.

Before and After School

Can I remind you that no bicycles, scooters etc are allowed to be ridden or ball games to be played in the playgrounds.  Following the reminder in the last newsletter, a child was injured after a collision with a scooter being ridden in the back playground.  Unfortunately the space is limited and we need to be aware for the safety of all children and adults.

Please do not allow children on climbing apparatus, in the huts etc., behind the Year 2 Block or to climb on goal posts on the Junior School field.

For security, the back gate will be locked at 4.00pm except Thursday, when it will be locked at 4.15pm.  A reminder to Junior School Parents that there is a gate leading into the Spinney from the Junior School grounds.

We have a no smoking ban within the school grounds which I know you will respect.  Any dogs tied up outside school must be secured away from the gates and pathways please.

We have been advised that an incident took place near to Marlow School at 3.45pm on Wednesday 5th March 2008.  There was an attempt to grab a Great Marlow pupil as she made her way home.  The suspect was an Asian male in his 40’s with a beard.  He was driving a small red car.  The Police have asked us to advise all to be vigilant.
