Dear Parents,
Newsletter 8
A Very Happy New Year and welcome back to school.
Staffing
We are very pleased to welcome Mrs Jenny Barnett (Year 2 Manager, 2F) and Miss Sophie Holbrook (FH) to our school. This term Mrs Jo Platt (Teaching Assistant) will be working in 2FW, Mrs Sarah Lorriman and Mrs Judith Hamilton (Teaching Assistants) in 1AG and Mrs Nicola Rhead (Teaching Assistant) in Foundation 1.
Water Bottles
We are in desperate need for parents to volunteer to sterilise the water bottles each Friday afternoon from 2.00pm in every year group. If you can help please contact the school office.

School Coats
Warm, waterproof School Coats are on sale from the school office. The cost of each cost is £16.00. If you would like to see the colours available or try on different sizes please see Mrs Rundle at the school office urgently. We have to return the sample coats in one weeks time.
Attendance
Following New Guidance children should be kept away from school for 48 hours following a bout of sickness and diarrhoea. This is the because the 24 hour rule has not been effective in preventing infection from spreading among the children. We are asking for your full support in adhering to this new guideline.
Can I also please remind parents that the school day begins at 8.55am and children should be in the back playground by this time. Frequent lateness may result in the involvement of the Educational Welfare Officer. The back gate will be opened at 2.50pm each day. Before that time there are PE lessons regularly taking place.
Uniform
Warm, waterproof coats can be ordered from the School Office. Please note that boots cannot be worn in the classrooms, only suitable school shoes.
Medicines
We are only able to give children medicines, creams etc prescribed by the doctor. If you wish us to administer medicine at any particular time you need to complete a consent form from the office. Children are not allowed to bring cough pastilles, throat sweets or lip salve into school. Can you ensure that you do not send in medicines in your childs book bag. All medicines must be handed into the school office.
Spare Clothing
We are urgently in need of spare school uniform to change children into when required. Please bring any items of clothing to the School Office. Can you ensure that when your child comes home in spare clothing they return the items to school as soon as possible.
Lunch Boxes
Thank you for all your support in providing healthy lunches for your children. We suggest you limit treats eg crisps, chocolate biscuits etc to one a day.
Celebrations Assembly
This will take place Wednesday 13th February starting at 11.20 a.m. Please bring any trophies, medals and certificates to your class teacher and make sure that each item is labelled with your childs name and class. All awards must be brought into school by 3.00 p.m. on Monday 11th February. If your child wishes to perform and their coach or tutor is willing to say anything about the activities in which your child is involved, then please let Mrs Wreglesworth know.
Trainees
We have two Trainees working in school this half term while Mrs Giselle Moore and Mrs Christine Yeowart are working in other schools. Their names are Miss Catherine Cook working in 1BG and Mrs Sarah Gammon working in 1E.
